Cookie Policy

Effective date: 15 April 2026

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as your session state — so you do not need to re-enter details on every page. We use cookies sparingly and only where necessary or with your explicit consent.

2. Essential cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core features such as the audit flow and admin access.

dc_audit_session

Purpose: Identifies your audit session so your progress is preserved across page loads.

Type: httpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax

Expires: 30 days

payload-token

Purpose: Authenticates Payload CMS admin users. Set only when an admin signs in to the /admin dashboard.

Type: httpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax

Expires: Session (cleared on browser close)

Cloudflare Turnstile cookies

Purpose: Set by Cloudflare to verify that form submissions originate from a human browser. Used on the audit request form to prevent automated abuse.

Type: Set by Cloudflare (third-party)

Expires: Session / short-lived

3. Optional / analytics cookies

We collect internal analytics events to understand how visitors move through our audit funnel. This data is used solely to improve the service — it is never sold or shared with advertising networks. Analytics tracking is gated behind your consent preference.

AuditEvents beacon

Purpose: Tracks funnel progression events (e.g. form started, step completed, report viewed) for internal analytics. No personal identifiers are attached.

Storage: localStorage preference key dc_cookie_consent

Active when: consent is "all"

You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using the banner that appears on your first visit, or by clearing the dc_cookie_consentkey from your browser's localStorage.

4. Third-party services

The following external services may set their own cookies or tracking mechanisms when you interact with features powered by them:

  • Cloudflare — Turnstile captcha verification. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery. Resend may embed tracking pixels in emails if you open audit-related messages. These pixels are standard email delivery receipts and do not track browsing. See Resend Privacy Policy.

We do not use any third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking networks.

5. How to manage cookies

You can control cookies at the browser level. The links below go to the relevant settings for common browsers:

Note: disabling essential cookies (such as dc_audit_session) will prevent the audit tool from functioning correctly.

6. Your GDPR rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Withdraw consent to optional cookies at any time
  • Request information about what data is stored in cookies
  • Request deletion of any personal data associated with your session
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests

Withdrawing consent to analytics cookies does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal. To withdraw consent, clear the dc_cookie_consentvalue from your browser's localStorage or contact us directly.

7. Policy updates

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or applicable regulations. Material changes will be announced via the site banner or email notification to users with active audit sessions. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the current version took effect.
